Wild Quail Hunts

We take out the mystery of where to make a do it yourself upland bird hunting trip in Kansas, Missouri and Iowa for the hunter's choice of pheasant or quail or both hunts.

Hunt Quality

Our lease land is for during season hunts only and no pre-season dog training or running is permitted. We also do not allow gang or drive hunts.

Our lease land is for the upland bird hunter that seeks the enjoyment of watching his dogs at work. If the hunter enjoys more the capture in a picture of a fine looking point than a bag limit then that hunter has the right attitude for those we choose to associate with.

Upland bird hunt execution quality on wild birds is our focus.

We observe all state season regulations and bag limits. We do not have any prohibitions as to the number of hunt days any bird hunter may choose to hunt. He may return for multiple trips through our long upland bird season from the end of October to the end of January.

Our mild winter weather allows for bird hunting throughout the season and our limited pressure and abundance of land prevents pressuring the birds. We have good hunts throughout the season and no upland bird hunter must feel that he has to hunt the opening two weeks to have a good hunt.

Bird Hunter/Member Feedback

"I found 4 coveys but had to walk to find them. They were wild and on the run all day. A lot of crops were still in the fields and the ground was muddy. I found the majority of the quail on high dry pastures that I normally would have overlooked, but hunted to avoid slipping through the mud." Kevin C.

Our approach to paid upland bird hunts is that all hunters are in the field for as much time as they have. There is not any time wasted time checking in, tracking down landowners or knocking on doors.

Long before the hunter leaves home he knows exactly where he will be upland bird hunting, where he will locally lodge and when he arrives in our area he travels directly to his upland bird hunting area and begins walking the fields waiting until after dark that first day to check into the local motel. The hunter also does not stop until the very last minute he has available before traveling home again. The idea is to be upland bird hunting every moment possible to gain as much field time on birds as can be achieved.

The bottom line is for those that truly want to hunt we have the right habitat, a great amount of acreage and a staff that trains and hunts their own dogs to provide recommendations of where to hunt. All the hunter has to do is go hunt. It is that simple.

Upland Bird Habitat

What good edge looks like in summer. The far side of the tree line held beans. The fact the crops cannot be seen from the road will mean many hunters will pass on this farm. The coveys on this farm are on the far side.

Self guided upland bird hunting at any time during any season by way of the hunters' telephone calls in a reservation to a unit of property. If he does not have an idea where to bird hunt we will recommend several starting upland units and once there the hunter may stick with the recommendation or expand out to bird habitat that more suits his hunt style and dogs.
