We do not offer tours of our properties before potential members join.
We ask you trust in that we would not have survived since 1965 had we not provided the hunter with what it is he wants, i.e., quality hunts on game productive, huntable private land for the do it yourself hunter. We also ask that you trust in that we want you for a lifetime member. To ensure that you do stay with us we must have quality hunting land. The penalty for not providing good land would be a high membership turn over. Turn over simply adds overhead and takes money from land contracts. The very reason you and I join a club like this. Private land hunting access, not a tour service. There is a lot of gray hair in our club as most people who join stay with us for a long time and the reason for that is the quality hunting. Membership is by application. And please do not interpret this as an arrogant statement, but with this organization the issue is not if the land is good enough for you. It is, will we accept your application or not. We do reject applications from even persons that have offered twice the annual membership to join. Finally, if we were of the character that we would offer land tours would we also save and prepare special lands as show places to impress? This is not what you are after either. Tours would also take personnel away from land or club membership and require additional staff to make up the work load. This would again take money away from land contracts.
We greatly appreciate the many courtesies the Association hunter extends back to us in the form of pictures and hunting accounts. In the case of those that do we respond with a listing of our (Jon and John's) latest observations out on the leases. |
