This is quail habitat in late summer. A picture with leaf on has a tendency to show better the quality of the habitat we have for quail hunting. The white sign in center is one of ours posted at the 1/2 mile mark of this lease.

This farm is definite two dog country as the pictured fallow pasture land recurs amongst large grain (corn and bean) crop fields separated by wooded creek bottoms and fence lines. Most would agree that this one contiguous farm is more than a day's hunt. The disadvantage compared to smaller farm is the chance to take breaks at the truck between walks. This farm does not have any standing water and the wooded creeks are mostly dry through the year. Carrying water for the dogs and a drink for the hunter is a must for any that think they will hunt this spot without re-supply.

Advance to having a look at quail habitat during the season.
