Families

Family memberships are limited to those that live in the same home, are listed on the same tax return as either the head of the household or his/her dependents. The child dependent must be under 22 years of age and in college or under 19 in high school.  Spouses qualify for family memberships.  Exceptions are limited to adult guardians of juveniles other than those they brought into this world.  Proof of guardianship must be provided.

Child dependents must hunt within unaided direct line of sight and voice control of the parent.

All fully functioning adult humans must join as individual members.

See our Cost page for pricing discounts for family members. The Association has always been a family organization with spouses and children admitted at a discount that ensures continuation of family fun.

Non-hunting spouses and his or her children not yet old enough to hunt may accompany the Association member on his/her hunts without being enrolled on a family membership. This includes when the child is in the BB gun stage of training. It is always good to see non-hunting spouses enjoying the day a field caring for the dogs, cleaning the game and washing out the truck.

Once children become of age to harvest game then the member must upgrade to a family membership. The upgrade is for both the initiation fee and the annual dues from the amount at the parent's original joining to the present value when the dependent joins.

Many members combine a family vacation with a hunting or scouting trip. One of the most popular destinations in very close proximity to some of our hunting lands is the Branson Missouri recreational area.

To find the latest information on shows and other recreational activities in Branson go to Branson Shows that has the best consolidation of Branson entertainment information that we have yet found. There is far more family fun in this area than any one family could cover in several trips.

Also nearby is Silver Dollar City, a combination of historic and modern theme park.

Then of course, no trip to this part of the country would be complete without a tour of the original Bass Pro store in Springfield Missouri. The complex includes a 140,000-gallon game fish aquarium, a four-story waterfall, enormous largemouth bass, a fishing and hunting museum with a life-size elephant and Kodiak bears, a 30,000-gallon saltwater aquarium, a wildlife art gallery, and a trout pond and a restaurant right in the store.

Jon and John,

Here are a couple of pictures from the first week of turkey season. I hunted 2 states. The weather was very hot for early season. The bird I killed in Iowa was pushing 30 lbs. and had 2 11" beards.

My 9 yr. old son made the trip with me. It was his first hunting trip. It was a great experience for both of us. He is now hooked on turkey hunting.

Thanks Steve for the good pictures and update. Glad to see your son out there.
