Administrative | State Of NoteWhen anyone talks wild turkey hunting the state of Missouri must be part of the conversation as Missouri turkey hunting accounts for more counted spring wild turkey harvests than any other single turkey hunting state. It seems that all who wild turkey hunt make at least one pilgrimage to Missouri in their turkey hunting career. Those that do and try our approach enjoy the planning they are able to accomplish long before leaving home. Each turkey hunter on all hunts will have a place to lodge and more than one place to hunt. Missouri being titled the "Rivers State" has the right combination of mild winters, relatively dry springs during brood months, water and the right combination of crop, grass and wood cover that meets the roosting, forage and breeding requirements. This habitat results in large flocks and plenty of opportunity to hunt wild birds. The "Rivers State" logo means to the turkey hunter many flat valleys in row crop with tree covered ridges. Food, cover and the last part nesting cover is ever increasing with the filter strip program. Repeat this combination several thousand times and that is the cause for large wild turkey flocks. What we bring to Missouri turkey hunting is the ability to hunt private land and hunt that land alone on wild birds that have not seen pressure. That hunter pressure is limited through having large acreage, large number of flocks and limiting hunters one at a time to individual leases. The hunter's confidence that he will have a good wild turkey hunting experience is that we want him to return next spring and we understand a good hunt will make that happen. Now take these same advantages and apply them to Kansas and Iowa. In these two additional states the adventure of exploring new habitat and different scenery continues the enjoyment of the hunt. With us just because a hunter fills his tags in one state is no reason to go home. Again unlike a guide service that has a charge per tag we make turkey hunting a lot more simple. Each hunter may take a little drive, cross the neighboring state line and continue wild turkey hunting. Add to that if he would like to hunt some Rio Grande Turkey on the same trip he may do so in Kansas. If filling more tags is not the goal then the chance to deer scout for that fall or do some bass fishing is always available. What we offer the hunter is the opportunity to hunt. Start off with spring season toms, continue with deer season and explore upland or waterfowl options through our buddy hunt system. No one will have any excuse not to spend free time in the field during the season.
The Central Mid-westWe know what it takes to give the new to the central mid west do it yourself wild turkey hunter or the hunter traveling across state lines to have a good turkey hunting experience. We provide the private land, two friendly points of contact in the form of the MAHA staff that are on the land 12 months a year and a lodging listing for everywhere we lease land. These aspects ensures that each time a hunter leaves home to hunt he knows exactly where he will hunt, where he will stay and have confidence his hunt will be productive. That confidence comes from the fact that we seek to have our hunters have such good hunts starting with their first day and during the rest of the season that they will want to return and renew their membership for years to come. When it comes to wild turkey hunting we never say all will fill one or all tags. What we offer is the chance to hunt wild turkey on natural terrain and do so on land we lease for our exclusive use. In the case of those seeking a bird of record book status we will get the hunter on the right habitat in the right part of the state for what he is after. Once there the hunter gets to hunt on his own, at his own pace employing his own techniques and he selects the tom he wants to harvest. By this approach we seek the wild turkey hunter that only requires good habitat access and does not need to be led around by the hand. We clearly know who we prefer to work with and screen out all others.
