MAHA Designed BlindsThere are a lot of duck blinds with many features available and opinions on the best or most well built construction design, materials and methods. Within our Association ours have been repeatedly tested and refined starting back in 1980's when we built our first wetlands through today. By trial and error followed by success we learned our lessons and today have the blind design that has worked the best. Our blinds are supported on 4x4 posts augured 3 feet into the earth supporting a 2x6 frame with 3/4 plywood deck built up for a covered seating area that allows for seated shooting and an open area that allows stand up shooting. The full length bench will seat 5 hunters or 4 with a dog. This is the design that we evolved into and while it does not have a dog box it does allow the dog inside. Others may have their ideas on the best duck blinds, however this is the one we will stick with.
MAHA Designed WetlandsWhy such effort and advertising it here is that our blinds are the icing on the cake so to speak as we are as proud of our them as we are our own built wetlands. Probably an obvious statement, however in our area we recognize the micro flyways and our wetlands just make it easy to hunt those areas. Our effort reflects the understanding of having all the correct elements in place to ensure the best possible self guided waterfowl hunting experience. All of our wetlands with both aerial and ground level blind pictures may be reviewed through the links at the bottomof this page. Having a read of this section will give much understanding to the quality of our waterfowl hunting. The bottom line is if do it yourself duck hunts is the objective then we have the right kind of wetlands habitat in the right region of Missouri to maximize the migration. The duck blinds simply make it easy. Missouri Duck Hunting - Mississippi FlywayAll of our best waterfowl hunting is in the Mississippi Flyway on the lower Missouri River basin. This is the area made famous during the earlier market hunting era and recently with our warm winters keeping the migration north in Missouri rather than extending down to the gulf coast. Testimony to this is that we have more southern duck hunters over these recent years than at any time previously.
