Wanted to forward you a picture of my first deer of the season. I shot this one in [location deleted] yesterday (Sat.) at about 7:45 a.m. He is the biggest deer I have ever shot & killed with a bow, but I have the rest of the week off for vacation so maybe [location deleted] will produce a larger one. Hopefully you all will have a successful season.

Self Guided Hunting

Mid-America Hunting Association offers only do it yourself hunts or self guided hunts for Mule and Whitetail Deer; Eastern and Rio Grande Turkey; pheasant and Bobwhite Quail and duck and goose hunting all on 100% private land we lease for our exclusive use.

Hunters provide their own equipment, dogs and skill. We provide the habitat within the right regions of our three state area of Kansas, Missouri and Iowa along with recommendations of where to hunt.

Do it yourself hunts are conducted in compliance with all state and federal wildlife regulations and are available at anytime during any regulated season.

All self guided hunts are on natural habitat and on 100% wild game.

Quality deer management on non-contiguous land within regions where state level QDM is not present is a futile effort. As a self guided deer hunter organization more MAHA deer hunters than average seek trophy quality racks passing on smaller bucks largely equaling out non-regulated QDM. We also encourage doe harvest. Our large non-resident membership mostly does not harvest any doe seeking to maximize their trophy hunt. Travel distance and limited vacation time makes that a necessity as we all recognize there is far more work than recreational time. Many local members do harvest doe, and many more than one, for freezer meat and we encourage that harvest. We also practice what we encourage and pictured below is one of the two future MAHA owner/operators, TJ learning from an early age the nuances of hunting.

Administrative

This is a paid self guided hunting operation with a simple administration of a single type of membership that for one annual cost all hunters may hunt their choice of seasons, at any time during those seasons and hunt for as many days as they have time to spend in the field. Pre seasons scouting and fishing are also included.

Since 1965 we have been providing hunters the opportunity to get on good habitat in some very productive regions of our three state area. The do it yourself hunter has always been what we have provided our private hunting lease land service for and have shunned all guided operations.

A good day when it is possible to take such a picture after the hunt has been done.
