| Our rules and our costs are immutable at all times. Neither are negotiable. That means we do not have any salesmen and prospective members need not waste time with crafty negotiation techniques. |
We offer only one type of membership. For one cost you get access to all lands, for all game types, for all seasons and for as often as you want to scout, hunt or fish. Memberships are for a 365 day year starting the day of allocation. Memberships are allocated on an individual basis. No group or corporate memberships are available. All hunts are self guided and our organization is designed for the do it yourself hunter.

As we are a private association we must pay sales tax of 7.5% in addition to the costs above. This is for everyone regardless of their residence. As the service is consumed within the state we must charge tax. All payments are final. Why only one type of membership? We keep things simple as we are a hunter collective we want our dues to pay for land access not job creation of a staff. The benefit to the membership is the simpler the administration the less money we pay for non-land contract overhead. We average 69% to 71% of our annual inflow to land contract cost. The very reason we join an organization like this. Secondly, individuals seek the tranquility of a good day a field. Groups and corporations are hunting for other reasons inconsistent with the Association's philosophy. If all members can hunt all land as often as they want how is the land not over hunted? At time of application all are screened for their primary and secondary hunting interest. During the hunting season we track the number of hunter by state and hunting type. The purpose is never to have too many of anyone type of hunter. This allows all to hunt on their schedule as often as they desire without competition with others. This sustains our high renewal rate that allows us to work less with older members than to work more with a constant influx of new hunters. This system also prevents us from reaching our overall administrative cap of 950 hunters.
A West Virginia member placed out some game cameras during his hunt and captured the these bucks both day and night while hunting for a larger racked deer. |
Why the initiation cost? It is simple. The initiation cost pays for those costs associated with bringing on new members. The annual dues pay for our annual operating costs. Members pay dues for land access, not to get a new member. Members in turn with their initiation cost pay for their joining costs. Why do not all those that apply get to join? We have set screening criteria time tested since 1965. We do not need nor want a lot of members. We want good members. Are there any other costs? No trophy, daily use, limited camping, etc. fees. The only other cost to be incurred is for a guest pass. Guest passes are very restrictive. see our rules section for details. Otherwise, members do not pay any more costs. A great picture of an Association hunter's good looking bird dog. All who hunt with us have plenty of opportunity to hunt their dogs and typically add more to their kennel. |
If all I hunt is quail why must I pay the same price as someone that hunts all other game? Species specific memberships would over pressure that species. Secondly, there is not species specific habitat. Each property hosts more than one game species. How often are membership dues raised? As little and as infrequently as possible. Land contracts drive our membership costs. Each year in response to changing agricultural practices, CRP contracts and land sales we cull out the less productive land and add better land. Eventually, it will catch up to us as the new land we add is invariably more expensive than the land we drop. When the land costs require it we will raise dues. If we did not practice land quality control, by dropping the unproductive and adding the productive each year, then the hunting quality would degrade. For more information contact us directly. We will be glad to discuss your concerns.
